2018 Season Dates

The following are the major dates for the 2018 GHFA competition:

Season commences (all age groups & competitions) - 7 April

U6 to U11
Season finish - 11 August (note matches are scheduled during school holidays)

U12-U21 & O45:
Last Premiership match - 21 July (14 matches + 2 wet weather weekends)
Championship/Pennant RR - 28 July to 11 August
Championship Finals: Div 2+ 18 August, Div 1 - 25 August

AA & O35
Last Premiership match - 4 August (18 matches)
Semi-finals (no Pennant competition) - 11 August
Championship finals: Div 2+ 18 August, Div 1 - 25 August

PL/SL
Last Premiership match - 11 August (18 matches + 1 wet weather weekend)
Semi-finals - 18 & 25 August
Grand finals - 1 September

All dates are subject to change due to wet weather rescheduling and the final composition of competitions following the close of team nominations

The 2018 fixtures will be published on the GHFA website in mid-March

Normanhurst PL team wins FNSW Fair Play Award

The Football NSW Fair Play Award acknowledges individuals or teams playing within Football NSW who have demonstrated an outstanding example of Fair Play and good sportsmanship during the 2017 football season.

The 2017 Fair Play Award Winner was taken out by Gladesville Hornsby Football Association’s Normanhurst Eagles First Grade Premier League side.

Geoff Driscoll

GHFA is sad to hear of the sudden passing of GHFA Life Member Geoff Driscoll. Geoff was involved with local and representative football for over 24 years starting out at Dundas United where he managed his son's teams from Under 6 to under 12s and where he was an active committee member.

He then moved on to West Ryde Rovers and later to Eastwood St Andrews, where he managed many teams including Premier League.
